AFROFEST 2026

AFROFEST is the largest free African music festival in North America and one of Canada’s

most significant celebrations of African arts and culture. Produced by Music Africa of Canada

Inc., the festival has become a cornerstone of Toronto’s multicultural arts landscape and a

nationally recognized platform for African and diasporic artistic expression.

For nearly four decades, AFROFEST has brought together artists, audiences, and

communities from across Canada and around the world to celebrate the richness and

diversity of African cultural heritage. Through music, dance, food, visual arts, and

community programming, the festival promotes cultural exchange, social inclusion, and

cross-cultural understanding, while contributing to efforts to address anti-Black racism and

strengthen representation of African cultures in Canada’s arts sector.

AFROFEST also plays an important role in supporting local artists, youth, entrepreneurs, and

cultural workers, providing a high-profile platform that connects emerging and established

talent with large audiences and industry opportunities.
